BENGAY Cream Over-The-Counter Pain & Fever Relief Medicine

Banishing Aches and Pains With Bengay Cream

Bengay is a topically applied medicinal cream that’s manufactured by Johnson & Johnson, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. It’s a safe product that’s designed to provide pain relief from aching muscles, cramps, joint pain, and bruises. No doctor’s prescription is required to buy it, and you can find a large selection of Bengay cream products on eBay being offered in a variety of quantities.

Bengay cream product range

The most commonly sold Bengay cream product is Ultra Strength Bengay, but there is also Greaseless Bengay, a special cream formulation that won’t transfer grease to any clothing it comes into contact with. In addition, since not everyone enjoys the mentholated odour of Bengay, Vanishing Scent Bengay is a gel that’s formulated to quickly lose its scent after being applied to the skin, without losing its effectiveness. Bengay creams normally come in two-ounce tubes, but packs containing up to four tubes are commonly sold, too.

How does Bengay work?

Bengay contains a blend of active ingredients all of which have beneficial properties. When Bengay is applied to any affected area, the active ingredients in the cream penetrate the skin and anaesthetise the nerve endings that are the source of the pain. Ultra Strength Bengay is the strongest available Bengay cream. Its active ingredients are:

  • Camphor (4%): Obtained from the wood of the camphor tree, camphor penetrates the skin easily and produces a deep heat sensation that helps to reduce pain.
  • Menthol (10%): Obtained from the oils of plants in the mint family, menthol has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Methyl salicylate (30%): Related to acetylsalicylic acid, the active component of aspirin, methyl salicylate also has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Who can use Bengay cream?

Bengay is suitable for use by adults and children over the age of 12 years. Children under the age of 12 and pregnant women should get a doctor’s approval before using any Bengay cream products.

How to use Bengay cream

To ensure that the cream will be at its most effective at all times, keep it stored at a temperature of between 20⁰ and 25⁰ C. It must only be used externally and shouldn’t be applied to damaged, blistered, or sunburned skin. When you need to use it, squeeze a small amount of the cream from its tube onto the affected area and gently massage it into the skin. You can apply Bengay up to four times per day.
