Twinings Tea

Tea is one of the most widely enjoyed beverages in the world. Tea is easy to prepare and available in many varieties and flavor combinations. Twinings Tea offers bagged tea, loose tea bags, as well as k-cup pods.

How is Twinings loose-leaf tea brewed?

While some prefer the convenience of a tea bag, others prefer the flavor of tea made from an assortment of loose leaves. If you choose to brew loose-leaf tea, the process is not difficult. To brew loose-leaf tea, you need a tea ball, strainer, or disposable tea bag. You'll also need loose-leaf tea and hot, not boiling, water. Once your water is hot, proceed with the following:

  • Put one to two teaspoons of tea in your tea bag or strainer per cup of tea
  • Place the strainer in your cup or teapot
  • Pour hot water over the strainer
  • Let your tea steep for three to five minutes
  • Add cream, sugar, or honey to taste if desired
What flavor options does Twinings offer with green tea?

Because of its mellow taste, Twinings green tea blends smoothly with a variety of other flavors. Green tea is commonly combined with herbs, fruits, and flowers. Twinings has a wide selection of flavored green teas, including:

  • Green tea with mint
  • Green tea with jasmine
  • Green tea with pomegranate
  • Green tea with raspberry
  • Green Nightly Calm, featuring chamomile, spearmint, and lemongrass
Do all Twinings teas have caffeine?

You will be able to find decaffeinated black and green tea options, including Earl Grey, English Breakfast, and Green Nightly Calm. Decaffeinated teas will still have a marginal amount of caffeine, so keep this in mind if you're trying to avoid it entirely. If you need to avoid caffeine completely, naturally caffeine-free Twinings varieties may be your best option. Some naturally caffeine-free teas include:

  • Herbal teas or tisanes
  • Peppermint tea
  • Rooibos tea
  • Chamomile tea
  • Ginger Tea
Can Twinings tea be used to make iced tea?

Yes, Twinings tea can be served hot or cold. To make iced tea, simply bring two cups of water to a boil and turn off the heat. Then add three to five tea bags. Alternatively, you can add three tablespoons of loose tea in a strainer. Steep for five minutes. Pour your concentrated tea into a pitcher and let it cool for 5-10 minutes. Next, fill the pitcher with cold water, stir and sweeten if desired.

For cold-brewed tea, use one tea bag for every six to eight ounces of cold water in your pitcher. Cover and refrigerate. Steep green or white tea for six to eight hours, and steep oolong or black tea 8-12 hours. After steeping, remove the tea bags to keep your tea from getting too strong or bitter.
